Eureka: Review

Wednesday 09.20.2006

I like this show a lot! I like the opening music and the whole oddball, offbeat, yet cheerful tone of the show. Colin Ferguson is terrific as the ordinary guy with the street smarts who solves most of the problems with his non-genius brain and not his brawn. And Joe Morton is also wonderful, playing the local tinkering genius, reminiscent of Dr. Emmett Brown from the Back to the Future movies but savvier, more focused. The talking house, the hard-ass female deputy, the ohmigawd-handsome Stark running the genius think tank business, the wonderful guy running the local restaurant who can cook *anything*, it's all so much fun! Reminds me of the best of Picket Fences but better, cheerier and with the wonderful touch of science fiction.
