I had these taped back to back to back. I am ever so sorry I did that now. I could barely stay awake and fell asleep so many times but I did solider through and watch the first three episodes. Two words: Stupid and boring. For the most part it was boring. Neal McDonough has a Gil Grissom characters and he's David Carusoing it. Kelli Williams proved it wasn't all David Kelly but that she sucks on her own. The part about her stealing the card key made me want to puke. This show was awful and none of the actors have good roles that fit them the closest is Christopher Gorham. This show earns my first red of the season for just how bad it sucks. Still its great if you are having trouble sleeping.....

Now this is pretty good. The pilot was a bit off, I liked the second episode better - but I still can't stand Kelli Williams in this. I nearly barfed over her character in the pilot, she was mildly better in the second show but still - yuck!
Neal McDonough is pretty good, he keeps things moving and interesting, of course the whole premise of the show is fairly unrealistic but he makes it fun enough that it doesn't matter. They're employing a technique they stole from Without a Trace by imagining what happened, this does liven things up a bit, visualizing the process for the viewer. Christopher Gorham, who shone so brightly in Jake 2.0, is the flip side of the newbie, here he's tentative and afraid, I'm not as fond of his character here as I was with Jake but hopefully it'll improve as things go along. The two other members of the team surfaced more in the second episode, I liked Anna Belknap very much, she played her part well. Troy Winbush's character needs more fleshing out and soon I hope.
It may be an ensemble cast but it's definitely Neal's show, he proved himself a very strong lead in Boomtown and he can handle it here. I like the ambiguity of his character there, in this show, he's much more of the knight in shining armor, riding up on a white horse to save the day and so far his worst fault seems to be that he's a workaholic. If they'd give him a bit more of an edge, he'd do much better.
This might turn out to be one of the best shows this season, although that's not saying much since everything else is so dreadful. LAX is on tonight...
