Prison Break: Another Fox Decision
Tuesday 11.01.2005

Only FOX could come up with this solution. With 9 episodes still left after the November 28th break they had to come up with a solution. A lot of good solutions were there but instead in a logic that no human can understand FOX has announced that it will not run these episodes until after 24 finishes its run in May. Thats right we get stuck with a 4 to 5 months of hiatus. Why? So American Idol can be run 3 FREAKING nights a week. Enough with this stupidity people no show needs to be run THREE FREAKING NIGHTS A WEEK. For the love of god people its Karoke night why are people still watching this moronic dog and pony show? If the judges aren't banging contestants or running over people with their cars we get stuck with William Hung. It would have made even more sense to use December to run off 4 of the episodes and then find a place in its schedule to run the last few I am sure Killer Instinct or Reunion can give up its slot.

FOX continues its season of firsts. They were first in starting their shows. They were first to cancel a show (Head Cases). Now they are first to issue a full season order for their show, Prison Break. Hmmm so far FOX is making good decisions.....looks like the FX chief is having an impact at his new job.

Unlike the most recent batch of new shows this summer, I completely agree with my brother, this is a terrific show! They stole alot of it from Shawshank Redemption and 24 but they did it very well, so it doesn't feel stale or boring. They've got a good tempo and a very good cast, good to see "Jane" from that horrendous Tarzan show finally getting a good role.
Something good to watch - at least until baseball playoffs interrupt it for a month.

Well I don't know what some people are smoking but I thought the pilot was very good. The second episode got even stronger. Granted there has to be some suspension of belief but probably less of that then there is for 24. The prison system though can't be happy this certainly doesn't do wonders for prison guards and wardens. Overall though I thought the cast they have assembled was outstanding and the acting and action were superb. This show is everything it is cracked up to be and a great start to the fall season. I think Wentworth Miller looks like a star in the making. So I figure what 3 maybe 4 episode before FOX pulls the plug? Oh well it is close enough to 24 in style that maybe they will give it a chance. I really like this show and I think it has the makings to be a hit. If only FOX will let it develop. Though seriously the ending to the second episode .....ouch!
Rating: Green. If you missed it watch the re-air of the first two episodes on Thursday.
2005-2006 Season, How I Met Your Mother, Just Legal, Kitchen Confidential, Medium, Out of Practice, Prison Break, Surface, Two & a Half Men: Monday
Sunday 08.07.2005

Monday night has the potential to be a blockbuster night for sit-coms. I really like what CBS has done here. 2 1/2 Men is the number 1 sitcom on TV now and will now be surrounded by two potentially great sit-coms. Leading into 2 1/2 men will be How I met your Mother. Bob Sagat is perfectly cast as the voice over and Alyson Hannigan gets to be the goofy financee of his friend. The show creators are a bit untested but this show looks like it might be a real good show. The follow up to 2 1/2 men, Out of Practice, also looks strong with another very strong cast and creators coming over from Frasier. Still it does have Paula Marshall in it a known show killer but hey this is the network that broke Jon Cryer's rep of show killer so maybe they can save her too. The only real downside to all this is Kitchen Confidental. It has a solid cast and Darren Star is behind it but I just can't shake the feeling that this could be a real bomb.
The drama's are a mixed bag. The returning Medium has real potential to turn into a powerhouse show. The renamed Surface looks really good in the previews but I am not sure how they can carry it for a whole season on this much less two. Prison Break also looks like it might be good but I am just not sure how well they can carry a Prison break for 20 something episodes much less into season 2. Just Legal looks awful and should be renamed Doogie Howser goes to Law School.

Sigh. I wait for Dominic Purcell to get a tv show again and it has to be something this silly and it has to be on Fox, with their absolutely abysmal record of cancelling anything decent.
